This past Saturday and Sunday were very busy (in business and in leisure) here in Netarts and Oceanside, which I attribute to the weather, but also two days where Oregon and Washington's Spring breaks overlapped. The beach in Oceanside during the day Saturday resembled something you might see in Southern California this time of year -- Children running around in bathing suits and beach umbrellas; chairs dense enough you couldn't walk in a straight line to the water's edge. I sound a little spoiled! The Netarts Bay Marina parking lot was completely full of trucks and empty boat trailers, which can only mean one thing...The crabbing must be good! Personal accounts I have heard from locals and visitors were of catches ranging from 6-12 keepers in a days pull.
Temporary crowding aside, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were (and will remain) three of the nicest days of the year. Summer and Fall are yet to come and should have plenty to offer, but I'm pretty excited we've already had the opportunity to enjoy a little of each (a lot of work and a lot of sun!)
The marine layer even found it's way onshore this morning (more like Summer), but Easter Sunday was a wonderful way to finish out two prior exceptionally nice weather and work days. No complaints from me for being too busy to get out and enjoy the weather Friday and Saturday, but thankfully Sunday offered one more day of warmth and sun and an opportunity for leisure myself, which I was able to enjoy it in it's entirety! A walk down the wooded trail and onto Short {agate} Beach in the early morning hours, followed by a laid back Trost Family get together on the banks of Netarts Bay. If pictures really say a thousand words, these should finish this post up nicely!
Happy Easter from the Oregon Coast!
